Terrible experience. Starters and dessert left out an hour before seating in a hot room. Warm cream and cheese... Rushed to finish the food, meaning some people left their meals in frustration and no appreciation for us being there despite spending over 1000. Have sent an email, had a read receipt but no response 4 days on. Disappointing.
Terrible service, food and manners. So not to rant (but if you're reading this then you probably want to know) came here for a Christmas party (about 15 of us) when we arrived it was Great to see that our puddings we're left out ready for us before we even had a chance to sit down for starter's, for those having cream or cheese, it was Great to let the cheese sweat and cream curdle in the wamths of 100s of people. To say the view's we're stunning would be an understatement, I mean from my chair I could see at least 3 doors which I felt for a cupboard under the stairs was brilliant. When the food was served it was nice that's the staff cared about how it was presented, you know not throwing it down and dropping others food in your food, real attention to detail. On the plus side. The Guinness was a good pint couldn't fault that and at 4, not overly priced all things considered.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND! I booked one of the private rooms before the summer for a going away event which was going well until the manager and staff at the hotel tried kicking us out before the listed end time. Forward to a couple months later (today), I called the hotel again to book the same room for a birthday event and the room was available for the date that I requested which was perfect. I was ready to pay 105 pounds again to book the room but as soon as I informed them that I was turning 22, the manager and staff said that they do not do birthday parties for young adults. My first reaction was that there is age discrimination here which can be found under The Equality Act. The hotel was denying me rental because of my age. Also, I proceeded to ask the staff member to let me talk to the manager. The manager responded by saying that they do not do disco parties, only dinners. I know that this was a lie because the event that I hosted before summer was a disco event. Furthermore, the manager proceeded to say that if we get the buffet package with the room then we can have the disco party. He simply wanted to loot us for more money. I highly advise anyone thinking of renting a room at this hotel to look elsewhere! I would recommend checking out Premier Inn as it is on the same road and you will receive much better and fair treatment!!!
Went for Sunday lunch. Fantastic! We'll definitely go again when we're in the area. My husband hasn't stopped talking about it! Excellent.
Nice enough room with sea view. Luckily noticed that legs on window arm chair were broken before sitting on it! When we moved it one leg just dropped off! Reported to reception and it was replaced asap. Bed was comfy. Room was clean and nicely decorated. One-ply toilet tissue...didn't think that they even made that anymore! Great breakfast. Love Aberystwyth.
