It's unfortunate that I have to leave this review for a restaurant with such friendly staff and a brilliant ambience. However, on the phone (on Monday) they said they were a mostly vegan restaurant. When we arrived (Wednesday) there was only one vegan option that they had already prepared for us: vegetable tagine with couscous. This was confusing, and not the array of delicious cruelty free options we expected. We were disappointed that we had no choice in what we could eat. However, we thought that seeing as it's a Moroccan restaurant, it should be bursting with flavour and spices, for that why one ventures to a Moroccan restaurant. Much to our displeasure the food was extremely bland. The side salad was wilted and bitter. We're debating as to whether they understand what the word 'vegan' actually means. They did ask us if we could eat olive oil which seems to imply a fundamental misunderstanding. There were no vegan desserts. We could bring our own alcohol, however, which meant drinking was cheaper here than elsewhere would have been and is definitely a plus. They were obviously well meaning as far as we could tell.
Very nice resturant. Deserves it's excellent rating here on the google. The staff was very friendly and taste was as good as I have tasted in Marrakesh.
